Izizwe Dance Studio promotes empowerment and artistic excellence for individuals and communities

Izizwe Dance Studio, led by Amy Xotyeni, is a non-competitive institution dedicated to providing high-quality dance education that is accessible to young people from all backgrounds. Situated in Lawrence, MA, Izizwe aims to nurture talented dancers while preparing them for success as artists, leaders, and individuals. Our curriculum includes essential techniques for those pursuing professional dance careers as well as for those dancing for enjoyment, healing, or self-expression. At Izizwe, classes focus on building strong technique while fostering self-awareness and expressive movement. Our goal is to empower students, boosting their confidence through dance education and performance. We offer a variety of classes for children and youth ages 2.5 to 18.
Additionally, we are home to Irise Dance Project; a non-profit organization dedicated to making high quality dance education accessible and meaningful. Irise consists of a youth company, made up of young people ages 8-18. These dancers exemplify our belief in dance as a tool for community and personal growth. The company does not compete but instead prioritizes artistic development, collaboration, and making dance education available to everyone.
